Asia and Pacific road-map to LGBTI rights

The Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF), the leading regional human rights organisation in the Asia Pacific met recently and determined to make greater efforts to advance LGBTI rights.  They set out a wide range of practical steps to bolster their work on advancing LGBTI rights in the region.  What follows is a slightly edited version of their news release.

A major regional workshop involving representatives from national human rights institutions (NHRIs) and civil society groups has concluded with a call for greater efforts to advance the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people in the Asia Pacific.
